Privacy policy
Last updated: 12 June 2026
LanternReel is operated by Blerc Pty Ltd ("we", "us") in Melbourne, Australia. This policy explains what information the app handles and what we do with it. The short version: the app exists to make and publish videos to channels you own, and the data it touches is only what it needs for that job.
What we collect
- Account details you give us. A name and email address if you create an account or contact us.
- Connected platform credentials. When you connect a YouTube, TikTok or Instagram account, we receive and store the OAuth access and refresh tokens those platforms issue. We never see or store your passwords.
- Content and channel data. The videos, titles, descriptions and schedules the app creates for you, and basic statistics about your published videos (such as view and like counts) so the app can suggest better topics.
- Technical logs. Standard application logs used for troubleshooting.
How we use it
Only to run the product: generating your videos, uploading them to the channels you connected, scheduling posts, and showing you how your videos are performing. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing, and we do not use it to train AI models.
Google and YouTube data
LanternReel uses YouTube API Services to upload videos to your channel and to read basic statistics about videos the app has uploaded. By connecting a YouTube channel you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
LanternReel's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The Google data we store is limited to: the OAuth tokens needed to act on your behalf, your channel ID and channel name, the IDs of videos the app uploaded, and the view and like counts of those videos. Tokens are stored in the app's database on our infrastructure and are not shared with anyone.
You can revoke LanternReel's access to your Google account at any time from your Google account permissions page. Revoking access immediately stops the app from uploading to or reading from your channel.
TikTok and Instagram data
The same approach applies to TikTok and Instagram: we store the OAuth tokens and account display name needed to post on your behalf, and the IDs of posts the app created. You can disconnect either platform in the app, or revoke access from the platform's own security settings.
Storage and security
Data is stored on infrastructure we control. Access tokens are kept server side and are never exposed in the browser. We keep data only as long as you use the product.
Deleting your data
Disconnect a platform in the app to stop all activity for it. To have your stored data removed entirely, email hello@lanternreel.com and we will delete your account data, stored tokens and content records within 30 days.
Cookies
The app uses only the session cookies it needs to keep you signed in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Children
LanternReel is a tool for content creators and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged in the app.
